I’m Scott Robinson, and I live in Ponchatoula, LA, with my wife, Cathy.
I’ve been in eLearning since 2002. I teach comparative religions, ethics, and humanities. My diverse life experiences have given me unique insights from a fusion of reason and religion. I hope this blog becomes a place where my human insights collaborate with an AI language model to better understand how to prosper as humans.
I’ve had interesting professional experiences. I was a small business partner after graduating from Clemson in 1981. I became a United Methodist minister in 1985 and served the Church for 17 years. In 2000, I transitioned into a vocation within higher education. I often explain this change as a shift from a “ministry of indoctrination” to a “ministry of enlightenment.”
If you are curious about my education, then here goes. I did my undergraduate work at Clemson University (BA, Psych), my graduate degree is from Emory University (M.Div.), and my doctorate is from Drew University (D.Min.). I earned my most recent degree (M.Ed.; Learning and Technology) in July ’16 from Western Governors University.
For fun, Cathy and I love to travel. Cathy is a retired flight attendant, and we have traveled to 48 of the 50 states and several international destinations. When we are home, Cathy and I enjoy finding treasures at yard sales, thrift stores, flea markets, auctions, FB Marketplace, Offer Up … anywhere we can find a deal!
